As the project HR Staffing Coordinator you will really get to express your flair for business and people development. Partnering with project leadership you will help create a team that is set up to deliver results on an iconic project.

In this site based role you will be situated full time at one of our exciting project sites in Darlington Ontario. You will be fully supported as you continue to build your skills, implement a project HR execution program where the emphasis will be on people attraction, development and management.


  • Support project management with workforce planning strategies providing guidance and advice
  • Partner with our Talent Acquisition COE on recruitment strategies, candidate resume reviews and selections
  • Be the on-site interface for recruitment activities. This will involve candidate engagement, scheduling interviews, providing feedback, and, working with the Talent Acquisition COE or 3rd party staffing agencies on offers of employment
  • Coordinate with Fluor’s customer on all hiring approvals ensuring that information and data is correct and up to date
  • Become an expert with Fluor’s HR policies and assignment provisions acting as an onsite advisor
  • Create and lead a robust HR on-boarding program that ensures employee’s new to the project are set up with the tools for success
  • Act as the on-site HR liaison for all matters that may include, employee relations, benefits enquiries, workforce engagement, salary planning and compensation enquiries
  • Tactfully manage HR data and trends to assist management on key business decisions
  • Support the onsite administrators with processes that include timesheet submittals, overtime requests and approvals and Fluor’s internal systems

Basic Job Requirements

  • The ideal individual will have 4-6 years of progressive HR experience in a fast paced environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent direct professional work experience
  • Always operate with the highest levels of integrity and ethics
  • Keen eye for talent, knowing where the right people can fit into the team dynamic
  • Must demonstrate adaptability and flexibility.
  • High energy level and ability to multitask to meet urgent and pressing deadlines
  • Strong customer service skills with demonstrated ability to establish and maintain relationships with a diverse client group
Other Job Requirements

  • A strong work ethic where you are more than willing going above and beyond the call of duty if required
  • Able to partner with senior and executive level management to advise on key HR decisions
  • Strong Microsoft Office experience and willing to learn company specific databases and online portals
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ideally you will have worked in an industrial construction or engineering setting
Preferred Qualifications

  • Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in HR, Psychology, Education, Business, Industrial Relations, Finance, or related field, with significant experience in Human Resources
  • Understand main Human Resource concepts, policies, and administrative procedures
  • Good knowledge of Human Resource policies and procedures
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills of a complex nature
  • Demonstrated ability to be discreet with confidential company and employee information
  • Experience providing consultation to managers and HR staff
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Proficient computer and software skills to include the use of word processing, email, spreadsheets, and electronic presentations
