MINIMAL FORMAL EDUCATION REQUIRED:
- Masters degree in a related study area.
OR
- Bachelors degree or completion of a Community College course in a related discipline with three years = directly-related experience.
EXPERIENCE:
- Experience with statistical programs, such as SPSS, R, STAT A and SAS, is required.
- Experience using cloud-based patient databases, specifically REDCap, LibreMD or Greenspace, is required. Experience in maintaining customer/patient databases is required.
- Experience working in a mental health environment is required.
- Experience in cleaning, processing, and analyzing clinical trial data is required. Experience working and communicating with
- Experience working with confidential patient health care data is preferred.
- Experience in a University setting.
- An acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Must have initiative and diplomacy to work collaboratively with all levels of faculty, staff, students and the public. Proficiency using computers and possess extensive knowledge in all Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Access, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) is required.
- Ability to communicate effectively (both oral and written) and professionally with internal and external stakeholders. Must be able to complete assigned tasks accurately and on deadline is required.
- Must be able to set up spreadsheets and databases and create reports utilizing and manipulating data is required.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills are required.
- Ability to pay attention to detail and follow instructions is required.
- Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment is required.
- Capable of performing other duties as assigned is required.
- A satisfactory work record, including satisfactory attendance and punctuality, is required.
OTHER JOB RELATED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience using REDCap and Greenspace is preferred.
- Advanced computing skills such as SPSS, Mplus, R, Oracle, SQL, and Java is an asset.
RESEARCH DATA MANAGEMENT AND STATISTICAL SUPPORT
- Assists with the management, cleaning, validation, and organization of research data across multiple clinical trials, implementation studies, and program evaluations.
- Conducts statistical analyses using established analysis plans and standard statistical methods under the guidance of investigators.
- Prepares datasets for analysis, identifies data inconsistencies, and performs quality assurance procedures to ensure data accuracy and completeness.
- Assists with development and maintenance of statistical databases (REDCap, Greenspace, etc.), data dictionaries, and study documentation.
- Programs and runs statistical analysis in programs such as SPSS, SAS, R, or ST AT A.
- Produces descriptive statistics, tables, figures, and routine reports for research projects.
- Maintains analysis files and documentation to support reproducible research practices.
- Assists with data management activities while maintaining confidentiality and compliance with research ethics and institutional policies.
RESEARCH PROJECT SUPPORT
- Provides statistical and research support for clinical trials, implementation studies, and other funded research projects.
- Assists investigators with data analyses for manuscripts, conference presentations, grant reports and knowledge translation activities.
- Conducts literature searches and assists with preparation of study materials, reports, and research documentation.
- Supports preparation and maintenance of ethics applications, amendments, annual renewals, and study documentation.
- Assists with data summaries and reporting required by funding agencies, research partners, and oversight committees.
- Participates in research team meetings and contributes to project planning and problem solving.
- Collaborates with research coordinators and project staff to ensure timely completion of study milestones.
RESEARCH COLLABORATION, TRAINING, AND KNOWLEDGE TRANSLATION
- Works collaboratively with investigators, research staff, trainees, and external collaborators on multidisciplinary research projects.
- Assists with preparation of manuscripts, abstracts, posters and presentations for scientific meetings.
- Supports students and research staff by providing guidance on data management procedures and basic statistical analyses.
- Participates in research meetings, journal clubs, and professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge of clinical trials, implementation science, and quantitative methods.
- Assists with training research personnel in data management procedures and standardized study protocols.
OTHER
- Maintains strong working relationships with other research and administrative staff that facilitates efficient delivery of the program's mandate.
- Assists other staff during peak periods and absences, providing backup as required.
- Performs other related duties and functions related to Departmental activities as required.
- Maintains organized research files and documentation.
- Assists with implementation of standard operating procedures and quality improvement initiatives.
- Performs administrative and research-related duties required to support the successful operation of the research program.
- May be required to perform related duties not exceeding skills and capabilities as required.
