Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Cashier to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, handling transactions accurately, doing inventory and maintaining a clean and welcoming environment. This role is essential in ensuring smooth operations at our convenience service establishment, contributing to a positive guest experience. Prior experience in food service or hospitality is preferred, along with familiarity with POS systems such as Micros POS. The cashier will also support food handling and sanitation procedures to uphold food safety standards.
Duties
- Operate POS systems, including Micros POS, to process customer transactions efficiently and accurately
- Handle cash, credit, and digital payments with precision and integrity
- Assist guests with their needs, and upsell products when appropriate
- Maintain cleanliness of the cashier station and surrounding areas in compliance with sanitation standards.
- Manage time effectively during busy periods to reduce wait times and improve guest satisfaction.
- Ensure proper sanitation procedures are followed throughout the shift to maintain a safe environment
- Assist with inventory management and restocking supplies at the store
Skills
- Proficiency in POS systems, especially Micros POS, for efficient transaction processing
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanor
- Excellent time management abilities to handle high-volume periods smoothly
- Basic math skills for accurate cash handling and transaction reconciliation
- Experience in retail industry settings such as retail store or hospitality environments is preferred
- Effective communication skills for guest interactions and team collaboration
- Upselling skills to enhance sales opportunities while maintaining guest satisfaction
- Familiarity with retail operations, serving techniques, and guest services
