Pharmacy Assistant / Registered Pharmacy Technician

Strathmore Remedy’s Rx Pharmacy is a community-focused pharmacy committed to providing exceptional patient care and professional pharmacy services. Our services include prescription care, clinical services, medication management, compounding, immunizations, health screenings, and medical supplies.
We are looking for a friendly, professional, reliable, and patient-focused Pharmacy Assistant or Registered Pharmacy Technician (RPhT) to join our growing team.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists and pharmacy team members with prescription processing and medication preparation
- Process prescriptions accurately using pharmacy software
- Provide friendly, professional, and compassionate patient service
- Prepare prescriptions and medication orders for pickup and delivery
- Assist with medication packaging, compliance packaging, and other pharmacy services
- Receive, check, organize, and maintain inventory and pharmacy supplies
- Answer phones, assist patients, and perform administrative duties
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient pharmacy environment
- Support pharmacy clinical services, health screenings, and patient care initiatives
- Follow pharmacy policies, procedures, and applicable Alberta pharmacy standards
- Work collaboratively with pharmacists, technicians, assistants, and other healthcare professionals
For Registered Pharmacy Technicians
Registered Pharmacy Technicians will have opportunities to utilize their full scope of practice and contribute to:
- Prescription processing and technical checks within applicable scope
- Medication preparation and dispensing activities
- Compliance packaging and medication management services
- Pharmacy clinical and patient-care initiatives
- Supporting workflow efficiency and quality improvement
- Other responsibilities appropriate to an RPhT's education, registration, and scope of practice
Qualifications
Pharmacy Assistant:
- Previous pharmacy assistant experience is preferred
- Pharmacy education or training is an asset
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment
- Basic computer and pharmacy software skills
Registered Pharmacy Technician (RPhT):
- Current registration with the Alberta College of Pharmacy (ACP)
- Previous community pharmacy experience preferred
- Strong technical skills, attention to detail, and commitment to patient safety
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Experience with Kroll or similar pharmacy software is an asset
