Civil Construction Workers / Labourers (Quesnel, BC)
RAM Excavating Limited is hiring Civil Construction Workers to join our field crews on road, bridge, municipal utilities, and earthworks projects throughout the BC Cariboo Interior. We're looking for hard-working, reliable people who show up ready to work and want to build a career in heavy civil construction. Experience is an asset, but we'll train motivated workers with the right attitude.
About the Role
As part of our field crew, you'll support all aspects of civil construction work under the direction of the Foreman and Superintendent — from grade work and pipe installation to concrete, backfill, and site cleanup. It's physically demanding, outdoor work on projects that matter to communities across the region.
Key Responsibilities
- General labour supporting excavation, grading, backfill, and compaction
- Assist with culvert and pipe installation, bedding, and backfill
- Support concrete work — forming, placing, and finishing as directed
- Install erosion and sediment control and environmental protection measures
- Load, unload, and move materials, tools, and equipment
- Operate hand and power tools safely
- Assist equipment operators with spotting, grade checking, and site coordination
- Traffic control duties as required (certification an asset)
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work site; follow all RAM safety procedures (FLHAs, toolbox talks, PPE)
Qualifications
- Willingness to work hard outdoors in all weather conditions
- Reliable, punctual, and a strong team player
- Experience in civil/heavy construction an asset (road, bridge, utilities, earthworks)
- Physically capable of lifting, bending, and standing for long periods
- Valid driver's licence and own transportation to site
- Safety tickets an asset (Traffic Control, Ground Disturbance, First Aid, Confined Space) — we can support the right candidates in getting certified
- Willingness to travel to and work at sites around the Cariboo region
