Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Food Service Counter Attendant to join our team. This role involves providing excellent customer service, preparing food items, and managing transactions in a fast-paced food service environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the food industry, strong communication skills, and the ability to handle multiple tasks with professionalism and efficiency.
Availability for evenings, late-night (closing shifts), and weekends is required.
Duties
- Greet customers warmly and take their orders accurately using POS systems.
- Prepare food items according to established recipes and safety standards, ensuring quality and presentation
- Operate cash registers, handle cash and card transactions, and process payments efficiently
- Upsell menu items to enhance customer experience and increase sales opportunities
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of workstations, adhering to food safety and sanitation guidelines
- Restock supplies and ensure the counter area is organized and presentable at all times
- Assist in food handling, portioning, and serving to ensure quick service during busy periods
- Follow all food safety protocols and sanitation procedures to ensure a safe environment for customers and staff
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving issues promptly, and ensuring customer satisfaction
Skills
- Experience in food preparation, cashiering, or food industry roles preferred but not required
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Micros POS or similar platforms
- Strong time management skills to handle high-volume periods efficiently
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly attitude
- Knowledge of food handling, sanitation, and safety standards in a restaurant or food service setting
- Basic math skills for cash handling and transaction accuracy
- Ability to upsell menu items effectively to enhance sales opportunities
- Kitchen experience or restaurant background is a plus but not mandatory
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Must be able to work evenings, late-night shifts, and weekends
