Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and professional Host/Expo to create a welcoming atmosphere for our guests. The ideal candidate will excel in guest services, possess excellent communication skills, and have experience in hospitality or food service environments. This role involves managing reservations, greeting guests, and ensuring smooth seating operations to enhance overall customer satisfaction.
Duties
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and manage waiting lists efficiently
- Escort guests to their tables and provide menus
- Handle reservations and seating arrangements using POS systems such as Squirrel
- Maintain a clean and organized host stand area
- Answer phone inquiries with professional phone etiquette and assist with reservation bookings
- Coordinate with servers and kitchen staff to ensure timely seating and service flow
- Manage guest inquiries, complaints, or special requests courteously and promptly
- Assist in maintaining a welcoming environment aligned with hospitality standards
Skills
- Proven experience in guest services, serving, or hospitality roles, preferably within restaurants or hotels
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with diverse guests
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor
- Familiarity with restaurant POS systems, especially Squirrel or similar platforms
- Knowledge of food service operations and restaurant procedures is a plus
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Professional phone etiquette and clear communication skills
- Previous restaurant experience is highly desirable for success in this role
