We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and cooking, with a focus on sushi and Japanese cuisine. As a Sushi Chef, you will be responsible for creating high-quality sushi dishes that meet our restaurant's standards while ensuring an exceptional dining experience for our guests.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and present sushi dishes according to established recipes and standards.
- Ensure the freshness and quality of all ingredients used in meal preparation.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and sushi bar area.
- Follow food safety regulations and best practices in food handling.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely service during peak hours.
- Assist in menu development by suggesting new sushi items or seasonal specials.
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff on sushi preparation techniques.
Skills
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, and serving within a restaurant environment.
- Strong knowledge of food safety practices and regulations related to food handling.
- Previous experience in the food industry, particularly in Japanese cuisine or sushi-making is preferred.
- Excellent knife skills and attention to detail in meal presentation.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
