Position Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Physician Assistant (PA) to join our growing clinical team in Oakville. Working under the supervision of our Reproductive Endocrinologists and Infertility Specialists, the Physician Assistant will play a key role in providing comprehensive clinical care to fertility patients. This includes conducting initial patient consultations, performing diagnostic procedures, managing treatment cycles, and offering compassionate support throughout the patient’s journey.
Key Responsibilities
- Clinical Assessment & Consultations: Conduct comprehensive patient histories, physical examinations, and fertility evaluations for new and follow-up patients.
- Diagnostic & Therapeutic Procedures: Perform diagnostic assessments including transvaginal ultrasounds, sonohysterograms (SIS), and intrauterine inseminations (IUI) under physician supervision.
- Treatment Plan Management: Coordinate and manage ovulation induction, IUI, and IVF treatment protocols in collaboration with supervising physicians.
- Patient Education & Counseling: Educate patients on diagnosis, treatment options, medication protocols, and lifestyle modifications, offering strong emotional support throughout care.
- Clinical Administration & Compliance: Accurately document patient encounters, chart progress notes, track lab and imaging results, and maintain strict compliance with CPSO guidelines and clinic policies.
- Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with physicians, nurses, laboratory staff, and administrative teams to ensure seamless patient care operations.
Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program (e.g., McMaster University, University of Toronto, or Consortium PA Program).
- Certification: Active certification with the Canadian Association of Physician Assistants (CAPA) or Physician Assistant Certification Council of Canada (PACCC) required.
- Licensure: Eligible for or active registration/membership to practice as a Physician Assistant in Ontario.
- Experience: Minimum 1–2 years of clinical practice required; previous experience in Obstetrics & Gynecology, Women's Health, or Reproductive Endocrinology is strongly preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems and gynecological ultrasound techniques.
- Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional clinical judgment, strong communication skills, high emotional intelligence, and a patient-centered mindset.
