Responsibilities:
- Help educators with pick-up & drop off from Central Elementary School
- Set up age-appropriate activities for students 5 years to 11 years of age.
- Follow the Bramblewood philosophy and curriculum to plan, implement and supervise age-appropriate activities
- Help educators with cleaning & setting the program up as needed
- Provide clear & caring supervision to children
- Consider the individual needs and goals of each child and respond accordingly
- Ensure the health and safety of the children
- Work as part of the team, which includes children, families enrolled, and teachers using the philosophy of the center
- Works in conjunction with the Manager and the Administrator to ensure the needs of the classroom are met. This includes the children and the staff.
- Give and take direction while making informed decisions in a fast-paced environment
- Participate in team meetings and professional development days
- Communicate effectively with parents and staff
- Maintain a safe, and positive learning environment for all children and their families
Qualifications:
- Minimum valid Responsible Adult certificate
- Valid First Aid certificate
- Criminal Record Check
- 3 references (minimum)
- Physician Statement
- Immunization record
- Must be comfortable and fluent in English - written and spoken.
- able to work with minimum supervision and able to implement quality age appropriate program
- Must be a team player and have confident leadership skills.
Employment terms:
- The Employee will be scheduled for 40 hours per week during the months of July and August.
- The successful applicant must be willing to work split shifts, Monday through Friday, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m from September to June.
- Split shift schedule is: 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. & 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. This schedule is subject to change based on the operational needs of the program.
Wages and benefits:
- Wage for this position starts from $18.55/hour and ranges on applicant's work experience, certification, related skills, and interests. Candidates with a minimum ECE License to Practice are entitled to a $6 top up through the Wage Enhancement Program

Job Type: Permanent full-time: Monday through Friday
Vacation: 4% paid out per pay period (equivalent to 10 days in a calendar year)
Sick Pay: 5 sick days (per calendar year) after successfully completing 3 month probationary period.
