ABOUT US:

THE OPPORTUNITY:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Manufacturing Engineer to support and enhance our welding assembly operations. This role is responsible for designing Poka-Yoke (error-proofing) fixtures, developing Bills of Materials (BOMs), defining subassemblies, and driving process improvements to ensure repeatability, and quality. The ideal candidate will have experience in a fabrication or assembly environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Process Development & Optimization:
- Develop and improve manufacturing processes focused on welded assemblies
- Create and maintain process documentation, including standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and visual aids.
- Analyze workflows to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and ensure product quality.
- Fixture & Tooling Design (with Poka-Yoke):
- Design and implement custom fixtures, jigs, and tooling for welding operations.
- Incorporate Poka-Yoke (error-proofing) techniques to eliminate assembly errors and ensure repeatable part orientation and positioning.
- Work closely with welders and production staff to test, validate, and refine tooling.
- Bill of Materials (BOM) & Subassembly Development:
- Create and maintain accurate BOMs and routings in the ERP/MRP system.
- Define subassemblies to support modular and efficient assembly workflows.
- Collaborate with procurement and design engineering to ensure accurate part and material specifications.
- Documentation & Training:
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for processes, fixtures, and assembly methods.
- Provide training and support to production teams during process changes or new product introductions.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Identify and implement opportunities for process improvement, cost reduction, and quality enhancement.
- Support root cause analysis and corrective action for quality or production issues.
- Participate in lean initiatives, including 5S, value stream mapping, and Kaizen events.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Partner with design engineering to ensure products are designed for manufacturability (DFM).
- Collaborate with quality, supply chain, and operations teams to support production goals.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing engineering role, preferably in welding or assembly environments.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for fixture/tooling design.
- Experience creating and managing BOMs and routings in ERP/MRP systems.
- Strong understanding of Poka-Yoke design principles and lean manufacturing methodologies such as 5S, value stream mapping, and Kaizen events
- Experience with providing training and support on process changes or new products
- Experience with project planning, risk management and budgeting
- Ability to build rapport, develop strong working relationships and collaborate effectively with others
- Excellent analysis and creative problem-solving skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and consistency
- Ability to managing multiple tasks, prioritize, and meet deadlines
