Candidates will be evaluated using the following rating criteria and weightings:
Applicants must meet TRSM’s minimum qualification requirements before they are considered by the Contract Lecturers Appointment Committee.

EDUCATION (20+ points maximum)
PhD. or equivalent in finance 10-20 points
PhD. or equivalent candidate 8-15 points
MBA (Finance specialization) or Masters in Finance 6-12 points
Terminal degree in other (relevant) discipline 1-10 points
Additional certification (CFA; CA; CGA; CMA; CFP etc.) 0-3 points per certification
TEACHING EXPERIENCE (10 points maximum)
Experience teaching target or similar course at TMU/Ryerson 2-5 points
Teaching target or similar course at other university 2-4 points
Teaching other (relevant) course at TMU/Ryerson 1-3 points
Teaching target or similar at college 1 points
Recent teaching assessments / course operation surveys 0-5 points
EFFECTIVE INTERACTION (25 points maximum)
Effective interaction with colleagues/students 0-13 points
Timely (accurate) performance of obligations 0-12 points
1) Common Midterm Assessment: Depending on the release of the Associate Dean Academic’s master schedule, a common midterm assessment may be scheduled between Weeks 6 and 8 (most likely on a Friday, Saturday, or Sunday). Instructors are required to be present in the exam room to address student questions. Further details will be provided once dates are finalized.
2) Exam Supervision: Pursuant to Article 17 of the CUPE Unit 1 Collective Agreement, candidates must be available to attend and supervise all midterm and final examinations as scheduled by the Dean’s Office and University Scheduling. Compliance with all Article 17 obligations is mandatory; failure to attend or unexcused tardiness for scheduled examinations will impact eligibility for future teaching appointments within TRSM at Toronto Metropolitan University.
