- Working closely with partners and other senior staff to develop and implement effective strategies and tax planning assignments
- Performing technical research, and developing and documenting tax plan recommendations
- Managing a portfolio of tax services clients
- Reviewing tax returns and other tax work prepared by staff
- Identifying and cultivating new sales and/or client service opportunities
- Managing engagement financials including budgets, WIP, variances and billing
- Mentoring, training and developing staff
- Leading practice and professional development initiatives
- Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) Designation or equivalent
- Successful completion of the CPA Canada In-Depth Tax Course or Master of Tax Program
- Minimum of 7 years’ relevant experience in tax
- High proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams), Caseware/Caseview, TaxPrep, and tax research software
- At least two years in a tax manager role, HST experience is an asset
- Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining trusted advisor relationships
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with the ability to lead, mentor and develop others to build high performing teams
- Understanding of a client-focused fast paced work environment and the ability to effectively pivot between tasks, prioritize and manage deliverables to meet conflicting deadlines
- Business development skills are an asset
