Position: Kitchen/Housekeeper/ Float
We are currently seeking to hire a part-time kitchen/housekeeper staff. The ideal candidate will be dependable, flexible, possess strong communication and organizational skills. This job description describes the general duties and responsibilities that the employee will be expected to perform. However, the job or duties described may vary or be amended to suit the needs of the child care centre.
Food: Catered snacks and lunches (No cooking is required)
Hours: 2:00p.m.-5:00 p.m. with opportunities for more hours
Qualifications:
- Current Food Handler's Certificate
- Valid Standard First Aid and CPR Level C
- Vulnerable Sector Criminal Reference Check (within the last six months)
- Up to date immunization
Responsibilities:
- Independent responsibility of the kitchen, cleaning all equipment and appliances, recording temperatures of the food, fridge and freezer
- Knowledge of children with allergies and food restrictions
- Portion and distribute catered lunches to classrooms
- Washing and sanitizing all dishes and utensils
- Maintain an inventory of food and kitchen supplies
- Assist in menu planning if there is an abundance of snacks
- Job involves standing, squatting, lifting and walking up stairs
- Ensure the kitchen is clean and organized that meets Public Health requirements
- Assist the preschool, kindergarten and school-age programs if needed
Job Type: Part-time
