Position Summary
The Maintenance Worker supports the day-to-day maintenance, repair, and upkeep of multiple residential buildings operated by the organization. Working under the direction of the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Worker performs routine maintenance tasks, responds to work orders, assists with preventative maintenance, and helps ensure all properties are safe, clean, functional, and well-maintained.
This role is hands-on and resident-facing, requiring a strong customer-service approach, attention to safety, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team in support of the organization’s mission to provide quality, affordable housing for seniors.
Key Responsibilities:
Property & Building Maintenance
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Follow all workplace health and safety policies, procedures, and safe work practices.
- Support compliance with applicable building, fire, and occupational health and safety regulations.
Resident & Team Relations
- Interact respectfully and professionally with residents, staff, and visitors at all times.
- Work collaboratively with the Maintenance Manager, maintenance team members, and other departments.
Qualifications & Experience
Required
- Minimum 1–3 years of experience in building maintenance, facilities, or a related trade.
- Basic working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general building systems.
- Ability to perform physical work, including lifting, bending, climbing, and working in confined or mechanical spaces.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between sites.
Preferred
- Experience in seniors’ housing, non-profit, or affordable housing environments.
- First Aid, WHMIS, and Occupational Health & Safety training.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
