PGHPCS sustains exceptional community grief and hospice programs through deep-rooted relationships. The Grief Support Team Worker coordinates existing and helps implement new grief support offerings, aligning with PGHPCS’s strategic goals.
Position Summary
The Grief Support Worker reports to the Community Programs Team Lead, is supervised by the Operations Director; and is guided by the Visions and Values of the Prince George Hospice Palliative Care Society. The Grief Support Team Members coordinate existing, and helps implement new, grief support offerings, aligning with PGHPCS’s strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities
- Organize, facilitate, and co-facilitate grief support groups and one-on-one sessions for clients of all ages.
- Provide emotional support and grief education for clients, caregivers, and families—both in the community and at Rotary Hospice House; through scheduled sessions or workshops and also by responding to crisis phone calls
- Support volunteers by providing direction, mentorship, and regular check-ins.
- Collaborate with staff to design or adapt programs using community feedback.
- Advocate for hospice services and raise public awareness.
- Compile program metrics, manage data entry, and track community support activities.

- Basic computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel).
Qualifications
- Experience in grief or palliative care preferred.
- Post-secondary education or certification in psychosocial, social work, or palliative support is an asset.
- Computer literacy.
- Ability to provide clear criminal record check.

Pay: $27.68-$31.42 per hour
