Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Assistant to support our pharmacy team in providing exceptional patient care. The ideal candidate will assist with medication dispensing, patient interactions, and administrative tasks within a fast-paced healthcare environment. This role offers an opportunity to work closely with licensed pharmacists and gain valuable experience in the medical and pharmaceutical fields. Prior pharmacy assistant experience is required, along with strong communication skills and attention to detail.
Duties
- Assist licensed pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications accurately and efficiently
- Manage inventory by stocking shelves, checking expiration dates, and ordering supplies as needed
- Provide excellent patient care
- Maintain accurate records of prescriptions, medication logs, and patient information in compliance with privacy regulations
- Use medical terminology correctly when documenting prescriptions and communicating with healthcare professionals
- Ensure the pharmacy environment remains clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards
- Handle administrative tasks such as data entry, processing insurance claims, and managing prescription refills
Requirements
- Previous pharmacy experience required
- Strong understanding of medical terminology
- Excellent organizational skills with keen attention to detail
- Compassionate approach to patient care and effective communication skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a team-oriented environment while managing multiple responsibilities
- Knowledge of KROLL and inventory management tools is preferred
