Dermatology Licensed Practical Nurse (Full-Time)
Overview:
Reporting to the Physician, the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is a member of the nursing team who is responsible for providing nursing care and treatment services for both medical and cosmetic patients/clients in a fast-paced dermatology clinic environment where accuracy and efficiency are paramount.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
- Fulfill the duties and responsibilities of a Licensed Practical Nurse with a pleasant demeanor while providing excellent customer service.
- Ensure nursing/biomedical equipment and supplies are used, maintained and stored in a safe, clean, and efficient manner. Reports unsafe or faulty equipment to the Physician.
- Complete required documentation such as biopsy reports, bloodwork and scheduling.
- Ensure written documentation is maintained as per Company policy and procedures with respect to confidentiality and security.
- Triage and assess patients.
- Provide surgical assistance with biopsies and minor dermatological procedures as sanctioned by the Newfoundland and Labrador College of Nurses.
- Perform cosmetic procedures including, but not limited to microdermabrasion, chemical peels, and laser treatments.
- Nurse procedure clinic (LN2, wart treatment, suture removal, injections)
- Administer biologic medications and other treatments through IM and/or SC injections while monitoring patient responses.
- Provide patient education, including instruction and support regarding self-injection and medication administration.
- Deliver phototherapy treatments and monitor patients throughout treatment while maintaining accurate clinical documentation
- Perform other related duties as assigned by Management

Experience and Education:
- Successful completion of an approved Practical Nursing Program and maintains current licensure in good standing with the Newfoundland and Labrador College of Nurses.
- Familiarity with phototherapy and biologic medications is preferred.
- 1 year previous experience working as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Experience in the field of dermatology is considered an asset.
- Current BLS certification.
- Satisfactory record of work performance and attendance is required.
Work Schedule: 8:30 am - 4:30 pm Monday to Friday.
