Ritchie Bros. has an opening at our Lethbridge, Alberta site for an Auction Coordinator. This position is ideal for someone who is looking for an administrative/coordinator role, but who would also like working outside, away from a desk. If you enjoy working with customers, and you can handle multiple tasks in a fast-moving setting, this one-of-a-kind job could be perfect for you. No prior auction or equipment experience is needed for this role. We'll give you with lots of hands-on training.

The Opportunity:
In this role you'll:
Collect information from equipment in auction site (on-site, off-site, and farm sales), and document everything that needs to happen to that equipment to get it ready for the auction. Coordinate with Assistant Yard Manager to ensure that work gets completed.
Be the primary Equipment Inspector, and work with other inspectors to assess equipment and take photos.
Gather and verify equipment inventory information (e.g. contract proofs, equipment additions, serial numbers, etc.).
Identify and record equipment components, accessories, and asset details.
Ensure the quality of equipment data and other related information.
Verify requirements for warranty applicable items.
Compose and take pictures of the equipment, both on-site and at customer yards when required.
Prepare advertising for upcoming auctions (brochures, catalogs, etc.). Own brochure production and other marketing-related responsibilities to represent our customers’ equipment as best as possible. Coordinate closely with marketing to ensure timelines are met and marketing materials meet standards of production.
Support the Operations team with auction duties (register bidders, provide general admin support, help take bids, tech troubleshooting, etc.)
Help the Sales team with equipment appraisals and write-ups in the field between peak periods.
Support the Sales team by arranging transportation and/or Refurb & Repair of equipment.
Support Assistant Yard Manager with yard setup, loading and unloading of equipment, and general yard and facility maintenance.
Assist the Operations Manager with resolving contract-related issues.
Coordinate delivery of Timed Auction Lot consignments from strategic partners.

Here's what you bring:
High school graduate or equivalent. Any additional education or training is an asset, especially Loader and Skid Steer Operator certifications.
2+ years of experience working with customers, and excellent customer service skills.
Solid MS Office Suite and PowerPoint skills - plus you're good with technology like digital cameras.
Some experience creating and working with spreadsheets in Excel.
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
You're a fast learner, and you're interested in becoming a guru on agriculture equipment, construction equipment and trucks. You express an active willingness to learn.
You're a perfectionist. You love detail work, and no error is too small to escape your eagle eye.
Excellent organization and time management skills: you can adapt quickly to shifting priorities and timelines. (Multitasking effectively and prioritizing your work are essential to succeed in this role.)
You're a “think-on-your feet” person with an energetic, can-do attitude! You show initiative, problem solving skills, and a commitment to getting the job done - and done right.
You thrive working in a team, and you pitch-in anywhere you can see that you're needed. But you also work well on your own without supervision.
You have a strong work ethic without sacrificing your sense of humor or your ability to have fun on the job.

This job will require you to:
Have a valid, clean driver’s license.
Work both indoors and outdoors year-round and climb on and off large equipment and trucks.
Lead by example to ensure overall productivity and quality of auction site.
Take direction and shift priorities to meet various deadlines and produce a great final product.
Work regular overtime, including weekend hours, at onsite auction sales. You can expect to work extra hours prior to each sale, during each sale, and after each sale. You may also be required to help with as many as 40 off-site or farm auctions each year, including sales in the spring, summer, and fall.
Travel to other auction sites as needed.
Manage multiple reporting lines – you’ll report directly to the Assistant Regional Operations Manager, but will have dotted-line reporting relationships to the Assistant Yard Manager / Yard Manager, and Equipment Manager.
