We are seeking a skilled and reliable Excavation Operator to join our team. The successful candidate will operate excavation equipment safely while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
Responsibilities
- Operate excavators and other heavy equipment safely and effectively.
- Perform trenching, grading, digging, backfilling, and site preparation work.
- Read and follow site plans, grades, and project specifications.
- Conduct daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance checks.
- Work closely with supervisors, labourers, and other equipment operators.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company procedures.
- Report equipment issues and site hazards promptly.
Qualifications
- Previous experience operating excavators and related heavy equipment.
- Valid driver's licence.
- Knowledge of construction site safety practices.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to read site plans and grade stakes is an asset.
- Safety certifications (e.g., First Aid, Ground Disturbance, CSTS, WHMIS) are considered an asset.
