As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills. Required Qualifications:
Completion of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:
Minimum 2 years recent surgical nursing experience required. Effective patient teaching experience required (both written and verbal). Strong critical thinking skills necessary. Demonstrates proficiency in clinical assessment skills. Demonstrated high functioning time-management and organizational skills. Demonstrated ability to prioritize in a rapidly changing environment. Demonstrated effective interpersonal and communication skills through computer, verbal and written means, in a professional and mature manner. Demonstrated initiative, flexibility and independence of nursing practice in a multidisciplinary team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Recent experience in Day Surgery and Endoscopy preferred. Outpatient surgical and medical clinic experience desired.
