Type & Location• This permanent, full-time role is an in-person position based in Edmonton
Reporting to Warehouse Manager, this blended role enjoys a mixture of driving a trailer as well as working in the warehouse. As a Delivery Driver, your primary duty focuses on fuel delivery to customers via a diesel tank and pump on trailer, as well as local pickups from vendors and parts deliveries to our technicians on job sites. Additional responsibilities include assisting with warehouse duties such as picking, receiving and facility maintenance.

- A minimum of 40 hour week, primarily between Monday and Friday (except when on-call, or work on special projects)

Who You Are
- Organizational Skills: Planning efficient routes through the city to minimize delays. Tracking fuel receipts, liters per customer and reporting deficiencies. Paperwork is meticulously taken care of. Maintain organization within the warehouse when assisting.
- Team Player: A warehouse driver thrives in the spirit of teamwork. Working with multiple departments, in a fast-paced environment to come to a quick solution to an urgent customer issue.
- Reliability: Day to day reliability to be on time and complete tasks in a timely manner. Asking questions to get the full scope of what they need to know. Someone you can count on not only to do the job but do the job right the first time.
- Safety Oriented: Has a keen eye for any hazards in and around the facility and at job sites which can be quickly resolved by cleaning up or need to be brought up to the Manager or Safety Committee.
- Positive Attitude: Eager to expand your skills in a service-based environment and learn more about the Fire Protection Industry. Sterling Fire is focused on providing the best service to the next person in the supply chain, whether that be the customer, technician, vendor or delivery driver.
What you bring
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Class 5 Drivers License with clean driver’s abstract
- Experience driving with a trailer
- 1 year of proven experience in warehouse operations or a similar role an asset
- Physical ability to lift, carry, and maneuver up to 50 lbs.
What you’ll do
- Pick up and Delivery: Deliver tools, equipment, and parts to ensure our clients' fire and life protection gear remains operational, ready to save the day whenever needed!
- Fuel Delivery: Refuel Diesel tanks at customer sites utilizing a diesel pump. Towing Diesel pump/tank on a trailer from site to site, noting fuel filled at each location.
- Support the Warehouse Leadership: As the assistant to our Warehouse Manager, you'll be their trusted ally, ready to assist in various tasks. Whether it's coordinating inventory checks or aiding in managing our tool and material crib, your support will be crucial in ensuring smooth warehouse operations.
- Champion Safety and Security: Safety is our top priority, and you'll play a vital role in upholding our standards. With vigilance and attention to detail, you'll help maintain a safe environment for all warehouse activities.
- Facility Maintenance: Stay vigilant of weather conditions and perform necessary maintenance tasks such as shoveling, sanding, sweeping, or mopping to uphold cleanliness and prevent hazards. Additionally, assist the Safety Advisor with safety-related maintenance requests.
- Stock Checks and Replenishment: Check Stock levels to ensure adequate stock levels are maintained. Replenishing pick locations from overstock as needed.
- Receiving and Put-Away: Receive orders using purchase order forms and put away in pick locations in a location-based system. Checking for accuracy from vendors and noting errors and shortages.
- Picking and Staging Orders: Using pick tickets to select the correct product for job orders. Staging orders in the job staging area and noting product which needs to be ordered in.
- Tool Crib Coordination: Sign In and out tools for technicians. Locate tools needed for upcoming jobs and arrange for availability when needed.
