The Role
We're looking for a Shop Foreman & Production Assistant who will take full ownership of both our shop operations and day-to-day production coordination.
This is not just a "clean-up" role — you'll be the backbone of our operation, keeping the shop running efficiently while acting as a key communication link between our office, crews in the field, and our customers. What You'll Be Responsible For
Shop Organization & Control
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient shop at all times
- Create and improve systems for storing tools and materials
- Ensure everything has a place and is returned properly
- Take initiative to improve layout and workflow
Inventory Management
- Track all tools, materials, and supplies
- Maintain accurate inventory counts
- Monitor stock levels and flag items that need to be reordered
- Perform routine inventory checks and audits
Order Preparation
- Pull and stage materials for upcoming jobs
- Ensure crews have everything they need before leaving
- Load/unload materials and coordinate deliveries
- Source and order materials as needed, ensuring the right products arrive on time and on budget
Production Coordination
- Call customers to confirm appointments, communicate job timelines, and provide updates
- Serve as a key point of contact between the office and field crews
- Relay job details, changes, and instructions to crews clearly and promptly
- Help schedule and coordinate daily production to keep jobs on track
- Follow up on outstanding items to ensure nothing falls through the cracks
Tools & Equipment
- Track tools and enforce accountability
- Inspect and maintain equipment
- Coordinate repairs and replacements
- Implement and manage sign-out systems and controls
Leadership
- Lead by example in organization, work ethic, and standards
- Direct and hold team members accountable in the shop
- Train others on systems and expectations
- Maintain a high-performance, no-excuses environment
What We're Looking For
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Comfortable communicating professionally with customers and crew members
- Leadership ability — you're comfortable taking charge
- Experience in construction, roofing, or a similar field (preferred)
- Physically capable (lifting, moving materials, active work)
- Problem-solver who takes initiative
- Reliable, consistent, and able to manage multiple priorities at once
