Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Sous Chef to assist in leading our kitchen operations. The ideal candidate will support the Head Chef in food preparation, kitchen management, and maintaining high standards of food quality, cleanliness, and safety.
Key Responsibilities Food Preparation & Kitchen Operations
- Assist the Head Chef with daily kitchen operations and menu execution.
- Prepare, cook, and present food according to company recipes and quality standards.
- Ensure all dishes are prepared and served in a timely manner.
- Monitor food quality, portion control, and presentation.
- Assist with inventory management, ordering, and stock rotation.
Team Leadership
- Supervise and support kitchen staff during service.
- Train new employees on food preparation techniques, kitchen procedures, and safety standards.
- Help schedule staff and ensure efficient workflow in the kitchen.
- Foster a positive and professional work environment.
Cleaning & Sanitation Duties
- Ensure all kitchen areas are kept clean, organized, and sanitary at all times.
- Oversee daily cleaning schedules and ensure completion of assigned cleaning tasks.
- Clean and sanitize workstations, equipment, utensils, storage areas, and food preparation surfaces.
- Ensure proper waste disposal and recycling procedures are followed.
- Maintain compliance with all health, food safety, and sanitation regulations.
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure cleanliness standards are consistently met.
Health & Safety
- Follow and enforce food safety, hygiene, and workplace safety policies.
- Ensure proper food storage, labeling, and temperature control procedures.
- Report maintenance issues and equipment malfunctions promptly.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Sous Chef, Line Cook, or similar kitchen leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen operations.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
