Full-Time Janitor / Office Cleaner

Shifts Available: Morning (7:00 AM – 3:00 PM) | Evening (3:00 PM – 11:00 PM)
Schedule: 7 days a week operation (Includes weekends and holidays on a rotating or set schedule)
Job Summary
Border City Cleaning Inc. is seeking reliable, detail oriented, and hardworking individuals to join our commercial cleaning team at a premier 26,000 sq. ft. facility in Windsor. As a Full-Time Janitor/Cleaner, you will play a crucial role in maintaining a spotless, safe, and hygienic environment for our client's employees and visitors.
We have immediate openings for both Morning (7 AM - 3 PM) and Evening (3 PM - 11 PM) shifts.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Empty all waste receptacles and recycling bins across the facility (offices, common areas, restrooms, and hangar-adjacent desks).
- Remove soiled liners and replace them with fresh ones daily.
- Clean and wipe down the interiors/exteriors of waste bins if leaks or spills occur.
- Safely transport all collected waste bags to the designated facility dumpsters.
2. Surface, Glass & Workstation Care
- Disinfect and wipe clean all desks, side tables, and office phone units without disturbing personal items.
- Sanitize and dust various seating systems, including task chairs, lobby seating, cafeteria chairs, and classroom seating.
- Clean and polish architectural glass tables, interior windows, office partitions, and main entry glass to ensure a streak-free finish.
- Microfiber dust wall-mounted artwork, display boards, televisions, window ledges, and accessible light fixtures.
3. Restroom, Locker Room & Shower Sanitization (Min. Twice Daily)
- Thoroughly scrub, disinfect, and polish toilet bowls, seats, and urinals using commercial-grade disinfectants.
- Clean and sanitize handwashing sinks, faucets, and vanity countertops to remove soap scum and hard water buildup.
- Scrub down shower stalls, walls, and floors in the locker room areas.
- Wipe down and sanitize the exteriors and handles of metal staff lockers.
- Monitor and fully restock hand soap, paper towels, hand sanitizer, and toilet paper.
4. Culinary & Cafeteria Hygiene
- Deep wipe and sanitize all countertops, food-prep surfaces, and backsplashes in the main cafeteria and break rooms.
- Clean and sanitize the exterior surfaces of all facility refrigerators, microwaves, and coffee machines.
- Wipe down exterior cabinet doors, hardware, and handles.
5. Floor Care & Safety Protocols
- Execute a full, edge-to-edge sweep or dust mop of all hard surface flooring daily.
- Deep vacuum all carpeted layouts, focusing heavily on high-traffic zones (lobby, stairways, and hallways).
- Damp-mop and wash hard floors 2 to 3 times per week (or daily during periods of inclement weather like rain, mud, or winter slush).
- Safety First: Strictly adhere to slip-and-fall prevention protocols by prominently displaying "Wet Floor" caution cones until floors are 100% dry.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Proven experience as a janitor, office cleaner, or custodian is an asset, but we are willing to train the right candidate.
- Ability to handle physical workload, including continuous walking, standing, bending, and lifting moderate weights.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high-standard cleanliness.
- Reliable transportation to the job site in Windsor, ON.
- Strong time-management skills to ensure all zones are completed thoroughly during your shift.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
