Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Journeyman/Woman Carpenter to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will possess comprehensive knowledge of various trades, including carpentry, finishing work and ability to restore sites when needed. This role involves working on diverse projects that require precision, technical expertise, and a strong commitment to safety and quality standards. The Journeyman/Woman Carpenter will be responsible for executing complex tasks, interpreting schematics and blueprints, and ensuring project completion in a timely manner.
Duties
- Read and interpret detailed blueprints, schematics, and construction plans to accurately execute projects.
- Perform concrete forming, cladding installation, roofing, and rebar installation as required.
- Install cabinets, flooring, siding, and perform construction painting and caulking to meet specifications.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and other specialized equipment safely and efficiently.
- Operate power mobile equipment as needed.
- Execute restoration projects including structural repairs and surface refinishing.
- Handle heavy lifting safely while maintaining adherence to safety protocols.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure quality workmanship and project deadlines are met.
- Maintain a clean work environment and ensure all tools and equipment are properly maintained.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Journeyman/Woman in construction or manufacturing environments with a strong background in carpentry and related trades.
- Extensive knowledge of blueprint reading, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools and other industry-specific equipment.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work at heights or in confined spaces as required.
- Strong understanding of safety standards including OSHA regulations.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt to changing project demands.
- Valid certification or licensing relevant to the trade (e.g., carpenter certification) is required.
- Handyman experience or experience in restoration projects is a plus.
