Position Overview
We are looking for a reliable, organized, and detail-oriented Grocery Receiver / Stocker to join our team full-time.
The primary focus of this position is receiving grocery deliveries, processing invoices in our system, maintaining accurate inventory, organizing backstock, and keeping our shelves full, clean, and properly rotated.
The successful candidate will also assist customers on the floor and provide cashier support when needed. You must be friendly, approachable, and comfortable interacting with customers.
This is a great opportunity for someone interested in building a long-term career in grocery retail. For the right person, there is room to take on additional responsibilities and grow into grocery purchasing and, eventually, centralized purchasing for the company. Advancement will be based on performance, reliability, organizational skills, customer service, and interest in taking on additional responsibility.
Responsibilities
- Receive and process grocery deliveries accurately and efficiently
- Check delivered products against invoices and purchase orders
- Verify quantities, expiry dates, product condition, pricing, and discounts
- Enter and receive invoices accurately in the store’s POS and inventory system
- Identify and report shortages, damages, substitutions, and delivery errors
- Follow the store’s out-of-stock procedures and communicate unavailable products
- Record product write-offs, damages, spoilage, and expired items in the system
- Organize and maintain grocery backstock areas
- Stock shelves and keep products properly faced and displayed
- Rotate products using FIFO and regularly monitor expiry dates
- Maintain accurate inventory levels
- Keep receiving, storage, and grocery areas clean, safe, and organized
- Communicate clearly with delivery drivers, vendors, purchasers, and supervisors
- Provide friendly and knowledgeable customer service on the grocery floor
- Assist customers in locating products and answering questions
- Provide cashier and till support when needed
- Process cash and card transactions accurately
- Support grocery purchasing and inventory-related tasks as training progresses
- Help other departments during busy periods when required
Requirements
- Previous grocery, retail stocking, receiving, warehouse, or inventory experience is a strong asset
- Experience using a POS system is a strong asset
- Strong attention to detail and comfort working with invoices and product quantities
- Basic computer skills and confidence learning new systems
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Friendly, approachable, and comfortable helping customers
- Ability to stay organized while managing multiple deliveries and priorities
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
- Ability to lift up to 25 kg and safely move boxes and products
- Comfortable being on your feet and physically active throughout the shift
- Reliable, punctual, responsible, and able to manage time effectively
- Interest in natural foods, organic products, local brands, or grocery purchasing is a strong asset

Schedule
- Full-time position
- Approximately 35–40 hours per week
- Morning availability is required for receiving deliveries
- Weekend availability is required; generally, only one weekend day
- Schedule may include occasional evening shifts depending on store needs
