What can I expect to do in this role?

You will:
lead and ensure all safety guidelines and procedures are observed and in place
lead the day-to-day operations of the park, including all administrative and maintenance functions
assist visitors with zip lining and other aerial features of the park
assist with marketing the park in the local area and increasing sales
prepare the annual work plan, identifying priorities, setting targets and coordinating resources to accomplish specific tasks
mentor, motivate and supervise park staff to ensure a thrilling, safe and memorable experience for customers
train seasonal staff and students, scheduling and facilitating guide certification/recertification
schedule and assign work, monitor and audit performance of staff and contractors for quality and maximum resource protection
ensure that pre-use inspections, T.S.S.A. inspections and log sheets are completed and documented using the supplied paperwork
deal with public inquiries and complaints
oversee park enforcement functions, ensuring staff follow proper security and safety procedures to ensure the safety of visitors and staff

Qualifications:
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

You have:
Demonstrated experience working as a guide at a commercial aerial park or challenge course facility.
Thorough knowledge of park operations, tourism and resource management practices.
Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act to ensure compliance when performing supervisory responsibilities.
CUSTOMER SERVICE AND COMMUNICATION SKILLS

You have:
Excellent communication skills (oral and written) to prepare reports and correspondence pertaining to park operations and respond to customer service issues.
A personal commitment to exceptional customer service.
LEADERSHIP, PROJECT MANAGEMENT AND RESEARCH SKILLS

You have:
Strong management skills and an aptitude to work with all types and levels of people.
The ability to motivate, train and work as a team member.
The ability to maintain the accessibility and functionality of the park.
JUDGMENT AND DECISION-MAKING SKILLS

You have:
Strong judgment and decision-making skills to ensure compliance to park regulations, resolve complaints and recognize dangerous situations, and determine the appropriate course of action.
The ability to plan, develop and lead park operations by identifying priorities, setting targets, determining objectives and coordinating resources.
The ability to monitor the flow of park visitors and make judgment decisions around staffing, ratios and timing.
ADMINISTRATIVE AND COMPUTER SKILLS

You have:
Knowledge of computer programs/software booking systems and administrative procedures to manage the daily operations of the park.
