We are currently looking for a Production Program Manager for our Manufacturing Operations division in Ottawa. Manufacturing Operations is responsible for planning, production and delivery of products, goods and services to meet the ongoing requirements of General Dynamics Mission Systems–Canada. The Production Program Manager shall be responsible for the cost, schedule and quality of Products and Services within assigned Projects, Business Areas and Core Manufacturing Processes. The candidate shall work within a dynamic team environment, interacting with the Advanced Planning team, Manufacturing and Test Engineering, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Commercial Services, Program Management and Customer personnel.
Your day to day will include:
Production Team Management
Manage production employees, including performance management, employee feedback, establishment of performance goals and standards, and career development
Conduct quarterly check-ins with staff
Co-ordinate day-to-day job assignments of production employees
Provide leadership, coaching, mentoring, direction and guidance to direct and indirect reporting employees
Forecast production labour requirements
Develop staffing requirements, training and development plans
Facilitate team meetings and projects
Build effective relationships with senior management, internal customers and external customers
Develop, manage and maintain accountability of operating plans and budgets
Co-ordinate estimates, bid and proposal responses
Liaise with Finance to track and report monthly on Project/Product costs
Ensure the quality of all products meet standards and requirements
Ensure employees are trained, knowledgeable and using GDMS-Canada quality tools and processes
Analyze quality data to determine trends and quality improvement initiatives
Develop process improvements for increased organizational effectiveness
Ensure continuous quality improvement
Ensure production activities adhere to Master Production Schedules
Co-ordinate the development and execution of production plans
Implement corrective actions, when required
Deliver to all customer promises, Goal of 100% (OTAD) On-time acceptable delivery performance
Minimum 10 years in a manufacturing environment; with a minimum 3 years in a lead or supervisory role
Preferred experience in a military production environment
University degree in engineering/business; or College diploma with related supplementary education
Must be able to obtain and maintain Canadian Security Clearance and a positive Controlled Goods Assessment. Eligibility to work in Canada either as a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident.
