Position Overview:
Phoenix Private Academy is looking for a dedicated professional to assist with the designing, facilitating, implementing, and supervising of ABA treatment programs that are functional in a classroom setting. The Senior Therapist acts as a key link between the Clinical Supervisor and the classroom team, ensuring that behavioral interventions are implemented with high integrity.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) and experience supervising ABA programs in an educational setting. You will work with a variety of children of all ages with learning diagnoses, including autism spectrum disorders, ADD/ADHD, emotional regulation disorders, and non-verbal learning disabilities.
This position is overseen by a registered Clinical BCBA or Clinical Psychologist, with opportunities for supervision of BCBA qualifying hours.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead the development, implementation, and supervision of comprehensive Behavioral Support Plans (BSPs) and Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
- Collect, review, and analyze ABC data, including graphing by percentage, duration, and frequency (preferably using Excel).
- Train and supervise staff on BSP implementation, providing in-the-moment coaching to ensure treatment integrity.
- Complete supervision notes promptly in accordance with organizational timelines.
- Collaborate with families to support the generalization of skills across home and community settings.
- Supervise Senior Therapist Assistants, providing clinical guidance and conducting performance evaluations.
- Conduct formal assessments (e.g., ABLLS-R, VB-MAPP) and assist with initial screenings or trial days as needed.
- Facilitate parent training sessions and multidisciplinary case conferences.
- Respond to clients engaging in behavior within the school and support staff as required.
- Maintain professionalism and adhere to the BACB ethical code of conduct, CPBAO standards, and school policies at all times.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in ABA or a related field (e.g., Behaviour Science, Psychology, Special Education, Autism), plus registration in additional ABA coursework or completion of the necessary requirements for the BCaBA/BCBA.
- Experience: 1–2 years working in an ABA setting with a variety of individuals with autism spectrum disorders and/or related diagnoses.
- Settings: Proven experience working in a classroom or school environment.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office & Excel.
- Clearance: Must provide a valid Vulnerable Sector Check.
