Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Auto Body Prepper to join our team in preparing vehicles for repairs and refinishing. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, experience with automotive repair, and familiarity with hand and power tools. This role is essential in ensuring that vehicles are properly prepped for painting and finishing, contributing to high-quality repair work and customer satisfaction. Responsibilities
- Prepare vehicle surfaces by sanding, grinding, and cleaning to ensure optimal paint adhesion
- Use hand tools and power tools to remove rust, dents, or other surface imperfections
- Assist with heavy lifting of vehicle parts or panels as needed
- Follow safety procedures when working with chemicals, tools, and equipment
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace to promote safety and efficiency
- Collaborate with technicians and painters to ensure proper vehicle prep before refinishing
- Inspect vehicles for damage or imperfections requiring additional attention before painting
Qualifications
- Previous dealership experience or automotive repair background preferred
- Mechanical knowledge related to vehicle bodywork and repairs
- Proficiency with hand tools such as sanders, grinders, and scrapers
- Experience using power tools safely and effectively in an automotive setting
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely (up to 50 pounds)
- Familiarity with automotive industry standards and safety protocols
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Prior experience with mechanic work or automotive finishing is a plus
Pay: $25.00-$32.00 per hour
Expected hours: 44.0 per week
