Benson Truck & Trailer is currently on the lookout for a full-time Shop Helper to join our Kingston, ON team. Shop Helpers perform manual work in the repair and maintenance of vehicles and hold a crucial position within our shops. The Shop Helper role is a stepping stone to becoming a Registered 310T Truck Technician Apprentice. In this position you would receive training to prepare you for enrollment into the apprentice program.

In the Shop Helper position you would:
- Under close direction; perform tasks that are assigned to repair and maintain heavy duty vehicles
- Assist licensed Technicians with minor repairs as required
- Learn daily procedures of the mechanical trade
- Maintain a well-organized and professional looking work area
- Work safely following company safety regulations
- Other duties as assigned
We are looking for a candidate who is motivated and resourceful and who has the ability and willingness to learn, in addition to:
- Strong work ethic and a passion for the automotive industry
- Previous automotive and maintenance experience (not required but an asset)
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Mechanical skill set
- Ability to work unsupervised and independently
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Valid driver’s license
