Position Overview
The Junior Power Generator Technician main responsibility is to perform inspections, maintain, and repair power generation equipment. You will also be responsible to clean, maintain, and organize the shop. This position has the potential to lead towards a more advanced role as a field Power Generator Technician completing more complex repairs and maintenance.
Job Responsibilities
· Perform inspections on incoming and outgoing diesel, natural gas, propane and gasoline powered generator equipment.
· Complete PDI’s on new and used generators equipment including load bank testing.
· Complete inspections and services on the generator rental fleet.
· Routine maintenance on the load bank and rental cables.
· Regularly clean and organize the shop space area.
· Perform preventative maintenance activities with minimal supervision.
· Assist field technicians with repairs and installs when necessary.
· Diagnose and perform minor engine repairs.
· Interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, service manuals, and technical bulletins.
· Following documented procedures and completing paperwork.
· Engaging with customers in a courteous and professional manner.
· Participate in ongoing training related to OEM updates and industry best practices.
· Be responsible for the safe operation of a company vehicle and maintain a clean driving record.
Requirements
· Entry level understanding of mechanical and A/C & D/C electrical systems.
· Must own a complete set of hand tools for both mechanical and electrical repairs.
· Demonstrates a strong work ethic and self-motivation.
· Able to work effectively independently as well as part of a team.
Qualifications and Experience
· Minimum 1st year Electrical or Mechanical apprenticeship preferred
· Valid Class 5 Driver's License
