The Lester B. Pearson School Board’s Continuing Education department is seeking qualified candidates for part-time and full-time teaching in the Plumbing and Heating Program at VACC. This program leads to the DEP (Diplome d’études professionnelles) and prepares students for the job market at entry level.
Qualifications

Have a Diploma of Vocational Studies (DEP/DVS) in Plumbing and Heating or equivalent.

Have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in the Plumbing and Heating trade.

Hold a license in the Plumbing or Heating trade (Journeyman hours completed).

Holding a certification in natural gas is an asset.

ASP certification is an asset (Association paritaire pour la santé et la sécurité du travail du secteur de la construction).

Have experience in various repair, maintenance, and installations of plumbing and heating systems.

Work well in teams and have a high value for professionalism and respect.
Responsibilities
-
Teach the Quebec Ministry program in Plumbing and Heating.

Develop lesson plans, course content, strategies, and teaching methods best suited for student learning objectives.

Promote student learning.

Prepare materials, supplies and equipment.

Enter daily attendance in database.

Participate in the organization and development of lab spaces.

Work closely with the pedagogical consultant and administration in support of the students.

Develop and administer evaluations throughout and at the end of each module, assess progress and provide feedback.

Correct and grade final examinations.
