Overview of the opportunity:
The Virtual Events Manager is part of KPMG’s Digital & Creative team and our broader NMC (National Marketing & Communications) internal agency, playing a critical role in supporting the firm’s growth. Sitting at the center of a very fast paced environment, this role requires the ability to think strategically, deliver exceptional internal and client experiences, and respond quickly to changing priorities. The Virtual Event Manager will be the key go-to person for best practices and innovation solutions and must engender competence and trust with internal stakeholders through their digital acumen, strategic advisor skills and virtual event experience.
The Virtual Event Manager will work as part of the National Digital team as a virtual event Subject Matter Expert (SME) to advise on, continually refine and improve the Virtual Event process. This includes, but is not limited to, forecasting and building events in advance, increasing efficiencies by vetting and adopting new tools, as well as redefining internal processes to ensure a great client experience. Digital acumen, a consultative approach to problem solving and outstanding client service skills will lead you to great success in this role.
Location: work virtually, close to one of our Canadian KPMG office locations
What you will do:
STRATEGIC VIRTUAL EVENT PROGRAM MANAGEMENT (50%)
Be the in-house Subject Matter Expert for our virtual event platforms to offer informed and innovative solutions to stakeholders, including troubleshooting and debriefing
Continuously improve our approach and execution of virtual events through technology and process
Develop your reputation as a trusted advisor and SME to partner with internal stakeholders on event success
Collaborate with other digital team members and internal agency teams as well as with KPMG’s larger marketing community spanning the country to ensure virtual solutions and events are aligned to and support national and geographic priorities and growth goals
VIRTUAL EVENT EXECUTION (50%)
Support the management and execution of virtual events on behalf of internal clients to support how we win in the market
Collaborate with internal clients to develop innovative solutions from scoping, conceptualization, production, quality assurance to final launch
Provide comprehensive end-to-end support through event coordination, vendor and budget management and collaboration with stakeholders
Leverage your solid creative, technical and event knowledge to consistently deliver innovative solutions and client service excellence.
Be a brand champion to ensure end results are high quality outputs, consistent with KPMG’s brand
At any one time, manage, monitor and execute 3- 5 projects seamlessly and efficiently
What you bring to the role:
3-5 years of experience executing virtual events or coordinating high-volume logistics planning, with a digital flair
Undergraduate degree or College diploma in Marketing, Events Management or other related field
Demonstrated exceptional event management success with large-scale and/or virtual events – event coordinator, event manager, field marketing, etc.
Exceptional record of client service, consultation and collaboration to realize success in your clients’ eyes
High level of expertise leveraging Microsoft Teams, Cisco WebEx, GlobalMeet, Adobe Connect and/or other virtual event / conference technology to deliver on client goals supported by technology such as:
Leveraging lead/contact management systems, such as Salesforce
Use of automated communications tools, such as PathFactory
Digital event production background an asset (such as webcasting/webinars, AV setups)
Superior communication skills, both written & verbal (writing, editing, proofreading)
