Company Overview
AG Event Graphics Inc is a dynamic and fast-paced large format custom print and sign company dedicated to delivering high-quality, long-lasting signage solutions. Our team thrives on the challenges of meeting customer expectations and takes pride in providing exceptional value through innovative products. We foster a collaborative environment that values our people as the core of our success.
Job Overview
As our project volume and custom manufacturing operations continue to expand, we are looking for a highly disciplined, task-oriented Production Supervisor & Gatekeeper.
In this role, you will serve as the critical operational bridge and "single point of truth" between our Sales/CSR/Project Management team and our custom print and fabrication departments. You will oversee the Stage-Gate intake process to ensure every work order is 100% complete, verified, and production-ready before any manufacturing begins—stopping rework and bottlenecks before they hit the shop floor.
Key Responsibilities
- Stage-Gate Intake & Quality Auditing: Audit all incoming work order packages against technical criteria. Enforce our "No Spec, No Start" standard with full authority to return incomplete or ambiguous orders back to CSR/Project Management.
- Technical & File Verification: Confirm that dimensions, CNC cut files, material gauges, electrical requirements, paint codes, and engineering drawings are finalized prior to releasing jobs to the floor.
- Job Traveler & Version Control: Maintain digital job tracking and strict revision management (Rev 0, Rev 1, etc.), immediately pulling and destroying obsolete paper travelers from active production bays.
- Production Scheduling & WIP Management: Manage the active fabrication queue and monitor Work-In-Progress (WIP) levels to balance shop workflow and avoid staging congestion.
- Material Staging Verification: Coordinate with procurement and inventory leads to physically confirm that substrates, LEDs, hardware, and long-lead components are staged before job release.
- Cross-Departmental Standups: Lead the daily 10–15 minute morning production meeting between department leads (CSR, Pre-Press/Print, Fabrication, and Assembly) to resolve blockers and confirm job releases.
- Defect & Rework Analysis: Track and log kickback reasons and shop scrap data to drive continuous front-end process improvements.
Qualifications & Experience
- 10+ years of experience in production coordination, job scheduling, or project management within custom sign manufacturing..
- Exceptional Multi-Tasking & Organization: Proven ability to manage multiple complex custom projects simultaneously with high attention to detail.
- Technical Blueprint Literacy: Comfortable reviewing architectural drawings, structural CAD/CNC files, and physical build specifications.
- Firm & Professional Communication: Strong interpersonal skills with the confidence to enforce quality gates and maintain cross-departmental accountability.
- Applied Math Skills: Solid understanding of dimensional conversions (metric/imperial), fractions, and geometry for material verification.
What We Offer
- Benefits: Full group health and dental benefits plan.
- Structured Hours: Predictable weekday schedule with no weekend shifts and a strict 44-hour weekly cap to protect your work-life balance.
Qualifications
- Strong mechanical knowledge with an understanding of manufacturing equipment and assembly processes
- Experience working with ERP systems such as SAP or other MRP (Material Requirements Planning) platforms
- Knowledge of supply chain management principles and process improvement strategies like lean manufacturing or continuous improvement methodologies
- Familiarity with quality control standards within a manufacturing environment
- Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively with production teams and security personnel
Join us in this pivotal role where your proactive leadership will help uphold our commitment to quality, safety, and operational excellence. Your expertise will be instrumental in supporting our mission to deliver outstanding products while fostering a safe and efficient work environment.
