About This Opportunity
The Replenishment Planner is responsible for ordering Purchased Finished Goods (PFG) to meet target inventory levels at our central distribution hubs. The planner will work with their plant networks to place orders meeting both manufacturing lead times and minimum run quantities. The planner is also responsible for building optimal loads that support transportation’s routing guide matrix. The Replenishment Planner directly reports to the Manager, Region Planning – Purchased Finished Goods. The Replenishment Planner also is responsible for inventory status communication, reporting on OOS risk or potential shelf life risk.
In performance of his/her official duties the Replenishment Planner is responsible for the following :
Creates a detailed plan for purchase of finished goods informing the producing plants of CCR requirements and meeting minimum run and lead time standards. Coordinates the schedules with Transportation department taking into consideration all external factors (warehouse resources for receiving/dispatch, availability of transportation and quantities of finished goods)
Creates quarantine shipments (changes of warehouses in the transportation orders and , if necessary, designation of quarantine storage sites)
Creates schedules of inbound deliveries in accordance with existing standard operating procedures.
Identifies potential risks of out of stock (OOS) situations and develops action plans to avoid them. (in accordance with the established service standards for each category)
If necessary, manually creates transportation/ shipment orders.
Monitors and verifies the compliance and execution of the daily replenishment plans (by tracking not completed purchase releases). All discrepancies should be taken into consideration to be avoided in the future.
Risk management for slow-selling SKU/write-offs of obsolete inventory, and development of measures to avoid possible write-offs in the future (age optimization of products)
Identifies and revises limitations on transport resources
Acts as a main liaison between Producing Plants, Central Sales Centers, and Transportation Department
Supports the Regional Planning manager in preparation of the annual business plan.
Completes and maintains all the required paperwork in accordance with company guidelines.
Planning: Ability to replenish F\G’s to meet service requirements while managing space limitations while supporting the ongoing business.
Forecasting - Demand: Knowledge of demand forecasting techniques and inputs (e.g., business trends, seasonality, consumption patterns).
Information Systems: Knowledge and use of existing KO Technical Information Systems (e.g., JDE, DBS, SAP, Intranet) to generate necessary data. Ability to access, analyse and utilize information in a manner that adds value to the organization. Ability to propose system enhancements based on business needs.
Inventory Management: Optimize inventory levels using statistical models to design min/max/reorder levels. Knowledge of asset management procedures, policies and information used to optimize inventory levels and/or fill rates (e.g., balance inventory levels against inventory carrying costs).
Supplier Performance Management: Knowledge of supplier capabilities and performance to help select, enhance and manage relationships. Ability to measure supplier performance to expectation and recommend opportunities for improvement.
Supply Chain: Knowledge of elements that make up the supply chain and the interrelationship between these elements. Ability to manage and execute strategies across the supply chain to reduce costs and gain efficiencies in the completion of a quality finished good. Ability to analyse, balance, synchronizes and synergize all internal and external resources and assets to ensure the progress and ultimate completion of a finished good.
Bachelor’s degree in Technology, Logistics, Business or Engineering
At least 3 years of supply planning/logistics experience
Excellent communication skills (written and speaking)
Strong organizational skills
Strong analytical skills
Understanding of Planning processes in Product Supply Systems
Knowledge of logistics processes
Good working knowledge of Supply Management methods and policies
Ability to work within a large team environment
Preferred experience working in an ERP environment, ideally SAP or BlueYonder
