Bartender / Barista – Brackendale Art Gallery / Zephyr Café Location: Squamish, BC | Type: Full-Time or Part-Time | Pay: $19–$22/hr + tips
The Brackendale Art Gallery (BAG) is one of Squamish's most unique spaces—a historic building and community hub founded in 1970 that now functions as an art gallery, restaurant, café, concert venue, and wedding location; with a gelato truck on site in our lovely garden as the cherry on top. The BAG is eclectic, full of character, and has been beautifully renovated—including a bright, well-equipped bar and café space.
We're looking for a Bartender/Barista to join our growing team. This is a flexible role: whether your strength is behind the bar, behind the espresso machine, or both, we want to hear from you. Candidates with skills in either area will be considered, and those comfortable in both will be preferred. You'll be part of a lineup that ranges from our quality daily coffee service to a variety of fun night events, concerts, and private functions—with plenty of room for creativity, expression, and growth along the way.
The Role
- Prepare and serve coffee and espresso-based drinks to a high standard during daily café service
- Craft and serve drinks behind the bar during evening events, concerts, and private functions
- Set up, stock, and maintain a clean, organized bar and/or café station
- Engage warmly with guests, offering recommendations and creating a welcoming experience
- Handle cash and POS transactions accurately
- Support event service alongside the broader front-of-house team
- Follow all responsible service, food safety, and hygiene standards at all times
What You Bring
- Experience as a bartender, barista, or both; candidates with skills in both are preferred
- Serving It Right certification (or willingness to obtain before starting)
- Food Safe certification an asset
- Genuine passion for coffee, drinks, and hospitality
- Comfortable working evenings and event-based hours as needed
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn
- Team player mentality—able to take direction and pitch in where needed
- Creativity and interest in growing your craft, whether that's coffee, cocktails, or both
