Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Kitchen Manager to oversee daily operations in a busy food service environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive restaurant and food industry experience, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service. This role involves managing kitchen staff, ensuring food safety standards, and maintaining efficient restaurant operations to provide an outstanding dining experience.
Duties
- Supervise and coordinate kitchen staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations
- Oversee food preparation, cooking, and presentation to ensure quality standards are met
- Manage inventory, order supplies, and control food costs to optimize profitability
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and proper handling of food products
- Operate POS systems such as Squirrel POS for order processing and cash handling
- Monitor daily restaurant operations, including serving procedures and customer interactions
- Lead team management efforts by conducting interviews, scheduling shifts, and fostering a positive work environment
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and dining areas in accordance with health codes
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery
- Implement training programs on food safety, food handling, and hospitality best practices
Skills
- Proven experience in restaurant management or hospitality leadership roles
- Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and food safety standards
- Excellent team management and supervisory skills with prior supervising experience
- Familiarity with POS systems such as squirrel POS and cash handling procedures
- Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to handle guest concerns professionally
- Knowledge of food industry regulations, kitchen operations, and restaurant experience
- Leadership qualities that motivate staff and promote teamwork
- Experience in interviewing potential team members and managing restaurant workflows
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments with excellent organizational skills
