What You’ll Be Doing
The Capital Markets arm of CIBC provides corporate, government, and institutional clients with innovative solutions to help them raise capital, and grow and invest actively throughout North America and key financial centres around the world. To deliver on its vision to be our clients’ preferred capital markets banking partner across multiple products and services, both in Canada and where our core competencies can be exported. The Capital Markets mission is to bring Canadian Capital Markets products to Canada and the rest of the world, and also bring the world to Canada.
CIBC’s Global Markets business focuses on delivering expert financial and economic analysis and savvy deal-making capabilities to clients in Canada and around the world. The Global Markets team supports fixed income, foreign exchange, commodities, derivatives, equities and growth markets and is focused on building a strong, innovative relationship-oriented bank.
Within the Global Markets division, the Retail Solutions Group is responsible for the distribution of Capital Market products to CIBC Retail Bank clients from Core to Private Wealth, Wood Gundy Investment Advisors, Investor’s Edge, and Third-party clients. The successful candidate will be focused on the marketing of our products inside the CIBC network. As a member of the Retail Solutions Group, your responsibilities will range from driving growth in sales to existing and new clients, to market analysis, pricing, and risk management for Retail Solutions and Alternative Solutions groups products.
How You’ll Succeed
Sell Foreign Exchange (FX) and Precious Metals (PM) products into CIBC Retail Bank channels.
Manage relationships within Global Banks and Retail Bank to grow our businesses
Understand who our clients are and what their needs are through these relationships to grow our share of wallet, and contribute to the growth of our p/l by winning and retaining client business.
Increase team productivity and efficiency with idea generation to improve operational processes
Cross-sell other Global Market products including FX payments, basic derivatives, and money market products; based on product availability and customer requirements, making sound judgment for both firm and client.
Execute client orders via multiple channels, using various dealing platforms, while maintaining process integrity and detailed accuracy
Work with product heads to develop ideas and solution plans for clients, and execute in a timely manner as required
Monitor/track and analyze market activities, economic factors, on an ongoing basis throughout the day. Be knowledgeable and able to respond to client requests from an informed position.
On your own initiative, develop product knowledge through directed or self-directed study. Be prepared to cross train as required and suggested by management. Share any developed skills, knowledge, ideas with management and colleagues within the Retail Solutions and Alternative Solutions Groups, and beyond. Attend learning sessions held by the Trading Room as required.

You have an undergraduate degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM), Economics, Finance, or Commerce
You have technical and analytical skills. Python, SQL, VBA, as well as big data management skills
You have project management skills. You have efficient organizational skills to respond to shifting priorities while working on several simultaneous projects. Proven ability to develop viable product ideas and lead product development processes from idea generation through to closing. This is a busy and fast paced environment, so you are efficient in your time management.
