We are currently looking for an experienced Red Seal Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Mechanic / HVAC Technician to join our team.
This is a hands-on role involving HVAC installation, service, repair, troubleshooting, and maintenance, along with helping train and guide apprentices as they develop their skills.

What You’ll Do
As a Red Seal HVAC Technician with ET Mechanical, you’ll play a key role in both our installation and service operations.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Install residential heating and cooling systems, including heat pumps, mini-splits, central/ducted systems, air conditioners, and related HVAC equipment.
- Complete equipment replacements, system upgrades, start-ups, testing, and commissioning.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, service, and repair HVAC and refrigeration systems.
- Perform preventative maintenance and system inspections.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, manufacturer specifications, and installation requirements.
- Ensure installations and repairs meet applicable codes, safety standards, and manufacturer requirements.
- Identify technical issues and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Clearly explain system operation, repairs, and recommendations to customers.
- Train, mentor, and provide technical guidance to apprentices and junior technicians
- Support apprentices in developing proper installation, troubleshooting, and safety practices.
- Help maintain high workmanship and quality-control standards across the team.
- Complete service and installation documentation accurately.
- Maintain company tools, equipment, materials, and service vehicles.
- Work collaboratively with our installation, service, sales, and operations teams.
- Deliver a professional and positive customer experience on every job.
What We’re Looking For
Required:
- Red Seal Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Mechanic certification.
- Strong experience with HVAC installation, service, repair, and troubleshooting.
- Experience installing and servicing heat pumps and residential HVAC systems.
- Strong refrigeration, electrical, and mechanical troubleshooting abilities.
- Ability to lead jobs and work independently in the field.
- Ability and willingness to mentor and guide apprentices.
- Strong communication and customer-service skills.
- High standards for workmanship, safety, and professionalism.
- Valid driver’s licence.
Experience with central/ducted heat pumps, ductless systems, controls, refrigeration, or electrical troubleshooting is considered an asset.
