Job Overview
We are seeking a talented and creative Florist/Floral Designer to join our team. This role involves designing beautiful floral arrangements and gift baskets for various occasions, assisting customers, and maintaining the shop's visual appeal. The ideal candidate will have a passion for flowers, excellent customer service skills, and a keen eye for detail. Strong floral design education/experience is A MUST for this position.
Duties
- Create custom floral arrangements and gift baskets for events, holidays, and everyday occasions, ensuring high-quality craftsmanship.
- Assist customers in selecting flowers and gift baskets for the special occasion. Providing expert advice on design options and care instructions.
- Operate POS systems for sales transactions, handle cash and credit payments accurately, and manage cash handling procedures.
- Maintain the showroom floral and gift basket display area, ensuring it is attractive, organized, and well-stocked with gifting options.
- Manage inventory levels of flowers, plants, and related merchandise; restock as needed to ensure product availability.
- Manage online orders, telephone orders, email orders and walk-in customers.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries promptly, offering design suggestions, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Keep up with current floral trends to improve design quality and customer offerings.
SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Floral Design Education/Experience - Minimum 2 yrs
- Proficiency with POS systems, cash handling, and retail sales processes.
- Strong communication skills in English; bilingualism an asset
- Experience in merchandising to effectively display florals and gift baskets attractively.
- Customer service expertise with the ability to understand client needs and provide personalized recommendations.
- Sales skills with a focus on achieving retail goals through upselling floral arrangements and related products.
- Organizational skills to manage inventory efficiently and maintain a clean work environment.

- Must have stamina to stand for long periods, carry and lift products

- Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, Internet, Email, Scanning, Troubleshooting)
- Team player with positive and pleasant personality and also works well independently
Pay: $18.00-$24.00 per hour
