POSITION: ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT III

REPORTS TO: SUPPORT SERVICES SUPERVISOR - ADMINISTRATION
STATUS: TEMPORARY FULL-TIME (APPROX. 10 MONTHS)
University Health Network (UHN) is looking for an experienced professional to fill the key role of Administrative Assistant III in our Environmental Services, Transportation, and Nutrition Department.

The Administrative Assistant III will exercise judgment and independence to provide complex administrative support to the leadership of the Environmental Services, Transportation and Nutrition Department in a fast-paced environment. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to: scheduling unionized staff in accordance with respective collective agreements; payroll entry for unionized and non-union team members; supporting the efficient and consistent administration of the department across multiple sites; HR forms/administration; coordinating and supporting staff recruitment processes; coordinating calendars/events; preparing complex documents/materials; performing clerical support functions; performing cross-functional responsibilities, as required; performing other duties consistent with the job classification, as assigned.
Completion of Grade XII or recognized equivalent required.
University Bachelor degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience would be an asset.
Community College Diploma in Office Administration or Business Administration would be an asset.
Previous supervisory experience preferred.
Experience working in a healthcare environment is preferred.
Unionized scheduling and payroll experience for large groups of staff required;
Previous financial analysis and accounting experience an asset.
Advanced computer skills with superior knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Access) is required.
Ability to perform under pressure and complete duties in a professional and courteous manner in difficult situations.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills required.
High level of organizational, prioritization, and time management skills are required.
Ability to produce high quality work in accordance with Hospital standards.
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Demonstrated ability to collaborate with individuals from diverse backgrounds and points of view.
