Looking for a hard-working, caring individual, ideally a Registered Veterinary Technician, to join a close-knit veterinary team. We are looking for a full-time technician/assistant to join our staff. Hours are Mon-Fri 8am-4pm.
Responsibilities include:
- assisting with appointments
- restraint for various procedures including blood and urine sampling
- assisting with radiographs
- assisting with surgical procedures
- answering phones and booking appointments
- general hospital cleaning and stocking
- patient care of hospitalized and boarding pets
- technical skills including blood and urine sampling, dental prophy, anesthetic monitoring and maintenance based on relevant qualifications
Previous experience and education in the veterinary field is a must. Experience with Avimark is an asset. Salary is based on experience and skill level, along with any accreditation (RVT vs Veterinary Assistant vs other experience)
An ideal candidate would be an RVT in good standing with strong technical skills including venipuncture, catheter placement, anaesthesia induction and monitoring, dental x-rays and cleaning, surgical prep and non dental x-rays, and strong communication skills for occasional reception duties.
