Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Dump Truck Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating dump trucks to transport materials across various job sites. This role requires a strong focus on safety, efficiency, and adherence to transportation regulations. Candidates with skills in heavy equipment operation, automotive repair, and freight handling will be highly valued. Duties
- Operate dump trucks to transport construction materials, debris, or other freight safely and efficiently.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with regulations.
- Load and unload materials using appropriate equipment, including forklifts if necessary.
- Maintain accurate logs of deliveries, mileage, and fuel consumption.
- Perform basic maintenance and minor repairs on trucks and related equipment to ensure optimal operation.
- Follow all safety protocols and traffic laws during transportation activities.
- Assist with the operation of heavy equipment or other machinery as needed.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding delivery schedules and site conditions.
Skills
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for dump truck operation.
- Experience in commercial driving, heavy equipment operation, or freight transportation.
- Knowledge of forklift operation is a plus for loading/unloading tasks.
- Basic automotive repair skills for routine maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Strong understanding of safety procedures related to heavy vehicle operation and construction sites.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to handle multiple deliveries efficiently.
- Ability to operate heavy machinery safely and responsibly in various weather conditions. This position is essential for maintaining smooth operations across our projects, emphasizing safety, reliability, and professionalism at all times.
