Carlson specializes in Commercial, Light Industrial and Multi-Unit Residential project execution.
We currently have a need for a Site Superintendent in our Calgary region! You will lead and direct construction projects to completion in the commercial and institutional sectors in the Edmonton area. As part of the Operations team, you will work closely with our Project Development, Finance and Human Resources teams. Specifically, the key responsibilities of a Site Superintendent are:
- Manage all construction activities onsite to attain client, company and contractual expectations on budget, quality, schedule and safety
- Control and monitor labour, material, and equipment expenses
- Understand the project plan and specifications
- Monitor and manage schedules and milestones, as well as monitor progress against established schedules
- Create and execute project plans, and revise as appropriate to meet changing requirements
- Supervise the activities and coordinate the work of subcontractors and field staff
- Proactively identify, address, and resolve issues and problems as or before they occur
- Maintain control and responsibility for the security and operation of Carlson’s directly owned equipment on the job site
- Attend client meetings when required to assist with determination of project requirements, take down necessary information, and address issues
- Schedule inspections as necessary throughout the process
- Track the progress and quality of work being performed by design disciplines/trades
- Review, manage, and adjust with the Project Manager workforce requirements
- Identify resources needed and delegate individual responsibilities
- Work with the Project Administrator and Project Manager to ensure that deliveries are expedited and coordinated
Requirements:
- 5-7 years of relevant experience in Superintendent role, in the commercial and industrial General Contracting and Construction Management sectors.
- Be generally familiar with policies and regulations related to the ICI building construction industry in Alberta.
- Excellent computer, written and oral communication skills and attention to detail are a must.
- Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills are required.
