Skypointe 2 Complex Mental Health Rehabilitation Program is a unique new 32 bed Addiction and Mental Health Continuing Care unit located in the community of Skyview in Calgary. You will have the opportunity to work with a group of dynamic multidisciplinary professionals supporting clients in their rehabilitation and recovery journey in collaboration with our community partner AgeCare. As the Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE) you are responsible for supporting Skypointe Complex Mental Health 32 bed Program, and other programs as required, with the development, education and maintenance of the Patient Family Centered Care, Recovery, Trauma Informed and Psychosocial models of care with an advanced focus on Addiction and Mental Health best practices. You will work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team, security and peace officers, as well as partnering agency staff members to provide care to clients both on site and in the community. Advanced skills and knowledge in family and individual group modalities for the rehabilitation, treatment, and recovery of individuals with complex mental health diagnosis including co-occurring conditions. You will be supporting the development and implementation of care plans by enhancing and building the competencies within the staffing through observation, feedback, and training.
As an Instructor, you will be an expert practitioner and key educator in support of both nursing staff and the multi-disciplinary clinical team. You will take a leadership role in the planning, coordination, implementation and evaluation of education for nursing staff including orientation, compulsory and continuing education, and clinical development. You will collaborate with management and internal partners to promote standards of clinical, educational and evidence informed practice. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of Recovery Alberta.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years expreince in the last 10 years in Addiction and Mental Health experience in acute care or community. Experience in a leadership or educational role in the advancement of nursing and/or multidisciplinary practice Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training (NVCI) trainer and other related training capabilities related to addiction and mental and physical health care. Experience in various risk assessment and delivery of related training i.e. Suicide risk, Homicidal risk, violent risk. Experience and knowledge of the AB Mental Health Act and Community Treatment Order Legislation, Health Information Act, Personal Directives Act, Alberta Guardianship and Trusteeship Act, Advanced Directives and other relevant legislation.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master of Nursing. Familiarity of Harm Reduction Principles, Psychosocial Rehabilitation, Patient and Family Centered Care, Recovery Oriented practice, and an ability to engage with difficult to serve populations. Understanding of the DSM-5 with demonstrated knowledge of mental health diagnosis, symptomatology and therapeutic treatment modalities/interventions
