Detailed Overview:
Supporting the Vision, Values, Purpose and Commitments of Fraser Health including service delivery that is centered around patients/clients/residents and families:
Working in collaboration with the Director, Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Language Services, leads the articulation and communication of Fraser Health's (FH) vision of respecting diversity and coordinates the development and implementation of new policies, procedures and standards which further promote diversity, equity and inclusion in the region.
The lead collaborates with relevant programs, departments and/or leaders across the organization to support the incorporation of key policies and frameworks, such as FH’s Respecting Diversity in Daily Interactions policy and the Gender Based Analysis Plus Framework, into core systems and practices across the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Leads the implementation of diversity-related initiatives and activities across FH while ensuring the frameworks and service delivery are in alignment with FH’s vision, mission and strategic priorities

Leads implementation of organizational diversity competency standards, from current state to the desired future state through idea generation, planning, design, implementation and evaluation

Develops engagement strategies and action plans to promote Diversity, Equity and Inclusion programs by applying project and change management principles

Collaborates with leaders from Aboriginal Health, Professional Practice, Employee Experience and Population Health to develop an integrated approach to Diversity, Anti-Racism, Cultural Safety and Humility, Psychological Safety, Equity and Inclusion across the region, translating strategy into new models of business that are in alignment with FH’s operational objectives.

Evaluates FH programs and service and identifies areas where greater diversity initiatives could be introduced.

Assesses the impact of strategic initiatives from a systems perspective and manages the impacts and interdependencies with other initiatives happening in the department.

Collaborates with colleagues to develop and implement internal and external communication strategies, including maintenance of the FH Diversity Services internal and external website.

Represents Fraser Health and Diversity Services at various events including educational forums, professional associations, regulatory bodies, and external committees, as required.

Works with colleagues to provide expert advice and counsel on matters of diversity, and seek the assistance of subject matter experts where necessary and appropriate, within the organization and the community.

Collaborates with various professional practice councils, including the inter-professional practice council, to integrate diversity-specific decision tools throughout various disciplines.

Represents the department on committees and projects at regional and provincial levels.
Qualifications:
Master's Degree in Intercultural Communication, Anthropology, Sociology, Healthcare (e.g. Nursing) or a related field plus five (5) years of recent, related experience working in the Diversity field and strategic development, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Demonstrates the leadership practices of the Fraser Health Leadership Framework of Clear, Caring and Courageous and creates the conditions for people to succeed.
