What You'll Do
As a Front of House Team Member, you'll be one of the first people guests meet when they visit the SIRCH Bistro & Bakery.
You'll help create a warm, welcoming, and inclusive environment where every guest feels valued, respected, and cared for.
· Welcome guests warmly and professionally
· Take food and beverage orders accurately
· Serve meals, baked goods, coffee, and specialty beverages
· Monitor guest needs throughout their visit
· Build positive relationships with regular and first-time guests
· Create an atmosphere that keeps people coming back
- Customer Service
- Apply our "Kindness First, Policy Second" approach in every interaction
- Respond to guest questions and concerns with empathy and professionalism
- Help resolve issues calmly and respectfully
- Ensure every guest leaves feeling appreciated
- Daily Operations
· Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system
· Process payments accurately
· Handle cash responsibly
· Assist with opening and closing procedures
· Restock displays, retail products, and supplies
· Support catering orders and special events
· Follow food safety and sanitation requirements
· Complete cleaning and organizational tasks
· Maintain dining room, patio, and service areas
· Support a clean, safe, and welcoming environment
· Help create attractive retail and bakery displays
· Share information about SIRCH's programs and impact when appropriate
· Help guests understand how their purchases support the community
· Represent SIRCH positively within the community
· Help foster an environment where everyone feels welcome and included
What Success Looks Like
After six months in this role, you will:
- Know many of our regular guests by name
- Feel confident serving food, beverages, and baked goods
- Be trusted to handle front-of-house responsibilities independently
- Understand how SIRCH programs positively impact the community
- Help create the welcoming atmosphere our guests return for
- Be a valued member of a team known for kindness, quality, and community impact

Qualifications
· High School Diploma or equivalent
· Excellent customer service skills
· Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
· Reliable transportation
· Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
· Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
· Experience in a café, bakery, restaurant, hospitality, or retail environment
· Point-of-sale (POS) experience
· Food service experience
· Safe Food Handlers Certification (training may be provided)
· Experience working with diverse populations

Work Schedule
This position may include:
- Day shifts (usually Tuesday to Saturday)
- Some evenings
- Weekends
- Holidays as required
Scheduling will be based on operational needs and availability.
