We are currently seeking a full-time, permanent Controller to support our Finance department.
A Snapshot of the job:
The Controller, under the direction of the Finance Manager, will primarily be responsible for the areas of financial statement preparation and conducting monthly financial analyses. This role will also collect, interpret, and report on financial data. The incumbent will be the day-to-day contact for questions and support to staff within the Finance department. The Controller must possess experience with accounting software as well as an advanced knowledge of MS Excel.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform monthly accounting activities as outlined in the month-end processing schedule and prepare monthly financial statements
- Collect, analyze, interpret, and report on financial data including margins analysis by brand
- Perform regular monitoring of our agreements with our major partners (retailers and suppliers) to ensure adequate rebates allocation and claims
- Perform relevant financial analysis for management on items like inventory turns, margins by customers
- Perform accounting activities leading up to and following the annual external audit work
- Perform regular internal review of company expenses
- Monitor tax compliance and abide by federal regulations
Qualifications:
- University Degree in Accounting, Economics or Business
- Accounting Designation – CPA designation or working towards it
- Experience with accounting systems/software and advanced level of MS Excel
- Minimum 3 year’s experience financial accounting
